ASSOCIATION
The JustPeace Association brings together the Alliance, the Hubs, and soon the Exchange Forum, and the Lab within a unified structure. Here, the overarching framework for cooperation is shaped, and key decisions are made collectively.
The Association operates independently and is committed to principles of justice, inclusivity, and solidarity with marginalised communities. It is not profit-oriented, and its statutes ensure that actors from across the globe play a central role in decision-making. JustPeace actively seeks to challenge entrenched colonial dynamics in international cooperation, working towards more equitable partnerships and inclusive initiatives.
GOVERNANCE
The Association is collectively governed by its members, primarily civil society organisations (CSOs), alongside individuals with diverse knowledge and experience in peace, justice, and human security. CSO members hold specific veto rights, ensuring that decision-making reflects their priorities and lived experiences.
The Association’s governance is structured through the General Assembly, the Board of Directors, and the Auditors, fostering inclusive and accountable leadership. In line with JustPeace’s commitment to equitable and participatory processes, the Association operates with streamlined management and administration, ensuring resources are directed toward meaningful impact.
ACTIVITIES
The Association fosters collaboration and knowledge-sharing among its members while supporting their resource mobilisation efforts. It also secures funding for its own initiatives, including research projects that contribute to transformative justice and peacebuilding.
While maintaining a reflective and critical perspective, the Association engages in dialogue on strategies and policies of international organisations, states, and other actors. It also collaborates with institutions and organisations that share its commitment to justice, equity, and sustainable peace.
INDEPENDENCE
The Association will be registered as a non-profit organisation in Geneva, Switzerland.
As an autonomous entity, it seeks support from a diverse range of donors to fund various aspects of its work. This commitment to diverse funding sources strengthens the Association’s independence, ensuring that its agenda remains shaped by its members rather than external interests.
