LAB

The JustPeace Lab is envisioned as a decentralised, networked space for collaborative learning, critical reflection, and co-creation. It will serve as a platform for the exchange of ideas, a site for collective publication, and a base for carrying out research projects.

Currently in its inception phase, the Lab aims to strengthen the work of the Alliance and the Hubs by facilitating innovative thinking and fostering the development of community-centered strategies. It will also offer training and advisory support, and work with academic institutions and community researchers.

Through research, dialogue, and co-learning, the Lab facilitates exchanges with other knowledge spaces—be they community initiatives, academic institutions, or social change collectives—and uplift the contributions of diverse thinkers and practitioners. All knowledge products will be shared online with open access, affirming our commitment to equitable knowledge sharing.

INNOVATION

The pursuit of just, peaceful, and secure societies requires ongoing creativity and the reimagining of existing systems. The JustPeace Lab is a space where practitioners, movement leaders, analysts, and community-based knowledge holders can come together to explore, pilot, and scale transformative tools, technologies, and practices rooted in diverse contexts.

TRAINING

Whether working directly on conflict transformation or navigating governance and justice systems, accessible and context-relevant knowledge is essential. Approaches to peacebuilding and justice work must be continuously discussed, shared, and adapted to different contexts.

Our facilitators, trainers, and community educators will engage in knowledge exchange on mediation and dialogue, justice and governance, transitional justice, security sector transformation, and related fields. These exchanges draw from lived experience, interdisciplinary knowledge, and critical perspectives, ensuring that methodologies are contextually grounded and relevant across diverse realities.

CONSULTANCY

The JustPeace Lab plans to collaborate with a broad and diverse pool of knowledge holders, community researchers, and practitioners to produce grounded, context-sensitive analyses across a wide range of themes related to peace, justice, and conflict transformation.

We plan to offer collaborative context analysis, participatory feasibility studies, and interdisciplinary research processes. Our advisory teams are intentionally assembled to reflect the experiential, cultural, and thematic expertise most relevant to each context. Through the JustPeace network, we connect with individuals and collectives who bring rare, context-specific, and deep-rooted knowledge into the work.
